Professor Nam received his PhD in chemistry from University of California, Los Angeles in 1990. Currently, he is the Director of Metal Oxygen Bioinspired Chemistry Laboratory,Ewha Womans University, Korea. His research interests are mostly focused on 1) Biomimetic studies of heme and nonheme iron enzymes, 2) Water oxidation & artificial Photosystem II, and 3) Photoluminescent sensors for metal ions in biological systems.
Currently, he is the Associate Editor of Chemical Science, and he is (was) on the Editorial Advisory Board of Accounts of Chemical Research, Chemical Communications, Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers, Progress in Inorganic Chemistry, Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Dalton Transactions, etc. Up to now, he has published a series of important papers in redox chemistry including Acc. Chem. Res. (3篇), Science (2篇), Nature (1篇), Nature Chem (4 篇), PNAS (2篇), JACS (58篇), Angew Chem (18篇). He also received more than 10 academic awards.
