    • 米耀榮(Yiu-Wing Mai)教授是國際斷裂力學(xué)和復(fù)合材料力學(xué)領(lǐng)域的主要學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人之一,是澳大利亞技術(shù)科學(xué)和工程院院士、英國皇家工程院外籍院士、澳大利亞科學(xué)院院士、英國皇家學(xué)會(huì)院士、歐洲科學(xué)院院士和中國工程院外籍院士。他提出了基本斷裂功新理論,揭示了彈塑性材料斷裂韌性的本質(zhì);發(fā)現(xiàn)了裂紋尾跡橋聯(lián)新現(xiàn)象并闡明了其增韌機(jī)理及普適性;創(chuàng)立了基于統(tǒng)計(jì)理論力學(xué)模型的含缺陷單根纖維復(fù)合材料斷裂實(shí)驗(yàn)方法,提出了縫合、銷釘復(fù)合材料層合板的斷裂分析模型。成果應(yīng)用于美國標(biāo)準(zhǔn)ASTM E-1290-93、歐洲結(jié)構(gòu)完整性協(xié)會(huì)技術(shù)委員會(huì)韌性聚合物薄膜的“基本斷裂功測(cè)試規(guī)程”。米教授為中國培養(yǎng)了20名博士,聯(lián)合培養(yǎng)15名博士,指導(dǎo)44名博士后,熱心接受40余名來自中國的訪問教授/學(xué)者到悉尼大學(xué)工作,對(duì)中國人才培養(yǎng)做出了卓越貢獻(xiàn)。積極為中國學(xué)者搭建國際交流合作的橋梁、推進(jìn)重要國際會(huì)議走進(jìn)中國、積極推薦中國學(xué)者在國際刊物擔(dān)任主編和編委,促進(jìn)了中國科技的國際化。他還擔(dān)任了中國公司高級(jí)顧問、建立院士工作站和海智工作站、獲湖北省人民政府“編鐘獎(jiǎng)”,為中國經(jīng)濟(jì)建設(shè)作出了重要貢獻(xiàn)。
